athletes best good learning personal several technique
The throwers had a good meet. The throwers are still working a lot on technique and a lot of the athletes are really young. There were several personal best performances, but a lot of them are still learning the event. That is going to take time.
athletes champions conference contend eighth finish good last meet ready seventh single summer team throughout year
Every single one of our athletes has had a good summer of training. We will be ready to contend throughout the season. We don't want to go to the conference meet as C-USA champions with the same team we had last year and finish seventh or eighth at the conference meet.
definitely difficult distance early finish half learning runners top tough
We're definitely still learning about the Big East, it's a very tough conference. Right now, I'd like to see our distance runners finish in the top half of the conference, but it's awfully early to tell just how difficult that's going to be.
affected athletes certainly high placed proud running weather
I was proud of my athletes in that I still think they competed very well. And that's the most important thing. The weather certainly affected times and distances, particularly in running events, but a lot of athletes placed high and did well.
confident continue five nationals runners seven straight string team
We have a string of five straight nationals appearances and we want to continue that. All seven runners from the women's team are back and we are confident that we can be even better.
frustrated good hit looking meet row third time year
We were getting a little frustrated just in that we were looking for some good weather. And for the third meet in a row we didn't get it. This time of year it's kind of hit and miss, and we have been unlucky.
athletes events practice running technique timing worth
We were still a little rusty, and with only a week's worth of practice, the timing and technique of some of the athletes was a little off. The running events went real well.
approach benefit couple east last meet meets prepare year
Last year we went to a meet in N.Y. on the same course, so that will be a benefit to us. Otherwise, we won't really approach anything differently. We have a couple of big meets to prepare us for what it's going to be like at the BIG EAST meet.
bit events focus four indoor outdoor switch track weeks
Now we will take a little bit of a break. We have about four weeks before our first outdoor meet. Some of the events will be different and the track will be different so we need to switch focus from indoor to outdoor.
best conference improvement looking meet room track
There is always room for improvement in every area. We are just looking to improve as a whole track team. We want to make the conference meet the best meet of the year.
east fact good meet people qualified ready starting
It was a good meet for us. It showed that we're starting to come around and the fact that we qualified so many people for the Big East showed that we're starting to get ready for the Championships.
close east focal indoor low meet people point
The Big East was the focal point of our indoor season, so this was more a meet for people who didn't go to that. We wanted something close and something that was a little more low key.
atmosphere chance compete definitely east improving point team trying
It was definitely a completely different atmosphere than at the Big East meet, but that's OK. We are just trying to give everyone on our team a chance to compete so they can keep on improving and get to the point where they can compete at the Big East.
east everybody far fast goal high jump looking measure people placing track ultimate week
We did have some people place high, but for us it wasn't as much about placing as much as it was about just competing. In track you can measure how fast you run, how far you throw, or how high you jump week by week. So we were just looking at having everybody progress. Our ultimate goal is to have everyone be competitive at the Big East level.
