class imagination stretch
We were all right. I wouldn't class that as a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination - from play to officiating to the whole works.
talk trust ultimate work
We work on things, we talk about things. But in the end, that's the ultimate one-on-one, and you have to trust the player.
bad concerned goes planning player respond seemed serious skating talked
When any player goes down you get a little scare, but it's not bad at all. He just tweaked an old injury. When I talked to him between periods, he seemed to respond well, so I don't think it's serious at all. I just talked to him and he was planning on skating tomorrow, so there's nothing to be concerned about. I don't think there's much to evaluate.
power pushed third
Our power play got us back into the game. And we pushed in the third and got the ones we needed.
against games known league played rest starting tough
They've always played tough games against us, so we've known about them for a while. Now the rest of the league is starting to find out.
apply knows players willing
A lot of players are well-coached, but the player has to be willing to take it into the game. He does that. He knows how to apply himself.
kids work
A lot of these Finnish kids come in look at his work ethic, and they think that's the way we have to be.
energetic game good nice push rewarded
They play a very energetic style, and they do a lot of good things that push the game along. But it would be nice to see them get rewarded every now and then.
stay
They play a game, and you have to stay with the game. You can't deviate.
both fit game open players playing talented
They're both talented players and both of them are used to playing with more open ice. It's a game where they really should fit in.
deal people players positive pushes success tradition
There's a lot of tradition in this organization, and expectations are very high. The players who come in here deal with those expectations in a positive way, and it pushes people forward. Success is something that is earned, and our players have that kind of mentality.
exciting guys ice wait
There's a lot of things that we're going to find out, but that's exciting to me. I can't wait to get these guys out on the ice and see what they can do as a group.
afford focus million sitting team trait
That's just a trait of the new NHL. It's probably just more of a focus on this team because it hasn't been that way in the past. You could afford to have a $2 million defenseman sitting there, and you just can't do that now.
battles concern division erratic expect game guys poor scared winning
That game is a real concern because that's a big division game that you expect to play well in. That was a combination of poor mistakes, not winning one-on-one battles and erratic play. At times, you had guys scared to make a play.
