Rankings don't mean anything. A cup of coffee and two guys sitting around a table is all those are worth. It's nice to be ranked. It looks good for recruiting purposes, but other than that, it doesn't mean anything until you get to nationals.
intensity matters perform season wait workouts
Workouts went good. The intensity was good. Of course, it's the end result. We have to wait and see how we perform out in competition, see how we perform at the end of the season when it matters the most.

A lot of it is misleading because he has had some close matches. The scores just don't indicate it because he's blowing them open in the last period. He could easily have lost a match or two this weekend, but he's capitalizing when he's in a position of advantage. He's turning people and making things happen.

You're only as good as the competition you wrestle. If we wanted to, we could probably go undefeated every year in duals if we wanted to go find the weakest teams to compete against, but that's not our objective. Our objective is to go out and find the toughest competition to see what we're made of, and hopefully that improves us when we get down near the end.

I thought out of everybody on the team, Adam had the best performance on the weekend. Over the past two weeks since we came back from break, he's been wrestling better each consecutive week. It's about consistency and improving, and he's definitely been doing that over the last couple weeks.

He's been doing some more individual workouts, working a little more with me one-on-one, training a little harder, lifting a little harder. It's just that he's wrestling tougher guys this year. ... He's getting better every day. He definitely knows he's capable of winning every time he goes out there.
