David Thomas "Dave" Masonis an English singer-songwriter and guitarist from Worcester, who first found fame with the rock band Traffic. Over the course of his career, Mason has played and recorded with many notable pop and rock musicians, including Paul McCartney, George Harrison, the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson, David Crosby, Graham Nash, Steve Winwood, Fleetwood Mac, Delaney & Bonnie, and Cass Elliot. I really hadn't written anything for nearly 15 years, ... I've been pretty much living alone, and I can take an entire house and make music in it and not bother anybody.
If the record company won't let you put a record out, then you've nothing to promote, and they're not going to help you out with the tour budget if you've nothing to promote. So basically we were kind of trapped. And all the songs we would have written would have been owned by Mercury until they released us. So what do you do? It's kind of like a prison sentence. You are at their beck and call a little.
They have to be heard. It is a little hard to talk about music. They're just good songs. It's something you need to hear. It's like trying to describe a painting.
It was just a friend and his brother that I work with, they had some design concepts for a guitar about six years ago just as a project really, it started as that. And it developed from there,
I never keep them when I make them, so I make a habit of not making them. Once you make them, they're so hard to keep. . . . I used to smoke and used to say, 'OK, that's it,' but 10 minutes later, you're lighting a cigarette.
At this stage of the game, we don't know what the process will look like, how to determine medical necessity, or what doctors, or patients or physical therapists will have to do. And there's no guarantee of anything, because there's no appeals process.

People say we are survivors but I don't see us as survivors of anything. We are still here, there's nothing that's come and tried to dislodge us. We just go about our business.
We can talk about Manchester! I like coming here, it's a wicked city. It's my second favourite city in England after London. I like Liverpool too but there's a lot more to do in Manchester.
Looking back in retrospect, there were some great moments working with some great people, ... I don't know quite how to put it into words. I don't look at it quite the same way other people do.
There ain't no good guys, there ain't no bad guys, there's only you and me, and we just disagree.

The demand has increased quite a bit recently for the needy with the price of gas and everything going up. The need for food is a lot greater now.
He's always working hard out there. His splits were very good. His style and the way he runs it makes him look like he doesn't run as hard. But he works hard out there.
