Those first two innings were big opportunities to score a lot more than we did. Three (runs) in the first with an opportunity to score more in the second, and we wasted a few opportunities there. It wasn't like we were giving away at-bats or anything like that. It just didn't happen for us.

We have a lot of students involved in either volunteer fire of rescue and it helps them by giving them some certification.

He's a big, strong kid and he's a second-year (40-man) roster guy, and he proved why he's on the 40-man roster. He actually pitched, more so than he did in the first outing. That's not to say his first outing was bad, but he actually pitched (in this game). That's what I was really pleased to see.

He's a big kid, but he has great reflexes. He can come out of goal. He has great hands and a solid goal kick.
employees morally perspective state
From the perspective of my own conscience, morally this is the right thing to do. We need to let the state employees know that we (in the Legislature) are tightening our own belts, too.

I wish I could see it. I think last year, if he hadn't gotten sick with his appendix, he might have gotten a shot last year. But he's a big-leaguer.

I feel pretty confident that I'm going to get both of these teams to state. I'm far more optimistic for both of my teams to make it than I've ever been.

This was a tough one - it was tough to lose. I wish I had the answers. Those guys over there just somehow find a way to get a win. We came ready to play, and we had that one bad inning that killed us.

Well, I would like to come back. I love this experience at the aa level. I would like to get one more shot at it. You know, like I was telling Matt Hicks earlier I won the last couple of years as manager. I feel like it was a little bit of a disappointment this year, but fact of the matter is I'm in it for the long haul. Hopefully, I'm back in Corpus next year.

It says a great deal about our student-athletes to have a solid representation on the Academic All-League Team. I am extremely pleased and proud of our team for their successes both in the pool and the classroom.
