allowed controlled gave good obviously puck start
We controlled the puck pretty well. We got off to a good start start, and obviously that gave us the win. It put them back on their heels. That allowed us to play a lot smarter.
confident good guy happy injured start
Obviously, it would be good to have Dom in there. But he's injured and we're just happy with the way Ray's been playing. He's never been there before, but you've got to start somewhere. We feel very confident in him and he's going to be the guy for us.
confidence great job lacking missing night playing start struggling sure team
Right now, I think we're playing a team that's struggling and lacking confidence big time, and missing some guys. With the start we got it kind of made them feel like it was going to be a long night and we made sure we didn't let up on anything. We did a great job all night.
good start team
We wanted to get off to a good start and this is a team we should beat.
coming days feeling knocked painful start wind
It was painful and it knocked the wind out of me. It wasn't any fun, but it's feeling better now and, hopefully, in the coming days it will get better and I can start working out again.
enjoy everybody experience fresh great last might older olympic opportunity playoff race start starts tournament
It's a fresh start for him. He doesn't have to think about the playoff race or anything. Everybody starts at zero. It's a great opportunity for us. We're getting older and it might be our last big tournament for our country. I think he's just going to enjoy the Olympic experience and make the most of the opportunity.
bad felt good start super team win
I told myself not to try to think about it too much. I felt not bad actually, not super but pretty good overall. It was a good win especially because we wanted to get off to a good start and this is a team we should beat.
great head hope periods short shutting starts tournament
I hope not, but I think he is. In a short tournament like that, goaltending is huge. He's one of those goalies who can get in other people's heads. If he starts shutting you down after two periods you start thinking, and he's really great that way. He can get in your head for sure.
fun knew lose rest tried
We tried today, no question. We knew we were in the quarter-finals with not much rest between games, but it's not fun to lose any game.
biggest ready
We were ready to play from the beginning, that's the biggest thing we take from this win.
deep fact forget game half periods played puck second wore
The second half of the game I thought we played really well. We were able to get the puck in deep and we were able to keep them in their end for long periods of time, forget that fact we haven't done a whole lot lately, and we just wore them down, I think.
black near stick switched tape white
I used black tape the whole game, but switched to an old stick that had white near the end.
confidence
Things are going well, you know, and confidence is a big thing.
best few knows last quite tournament
There's quite a few of us that are a little over 30 and who knows this may be our last big tournament together, we want to make the best out of it.
