coming final games good ourselves win
Coming into the final 23 games, we set ourselves up to where our destiny's in our hands. If we win the games we need to win, we'll put ourselves in good position.
battle brought coming expect knew
Coming in here, we knew what kind of battle to expect and they brought it but then we weren't ready.
anybody bad blood good maybe rivalry time tonight vancouver
I think maybe there's more bad blood now between us and Vancouver than with Detroit. I think now with us and Detroit, it's just a rivalry between two good teams. Most of that bad blood was a long time ago. We didn't have anybody out there tonight who was a part of it in '96.
effect teams tough
Those are the tough teams to play. The non-playoff teams are very dangerous. We know not to take teams like this for granted. They still have an effect on you.
division flames might needed obviously points post realize rest send spot top whom work
We obviously needed those two points to send a message, not only to the Flames whom we might see in the post season, but to the rest of the division and conference. We realize we're not where we want, which is that top spot which we had yesterday. We've still got a lot of work to do.

barn bit edge faces
Detroit's always Detroit, but we're going to have a lot of new faces that weren't there for the rivalry. There's always that little edge going into that barn because of the fans, and there's always a little bit of a hatred.
brain forward good job minutes smart start turn
As a forward now, you have to start thinking. As a defenseman, you turn your brain off for 60 minutes and play the game. But now that he has to play a smart position, he's done a pretty good job with the transition.
anybody catch guys hurt last saw tried trying
(Kronwall) was trying to get out of the way. I don't think he saw me coming, and then at the last second, he tried to duck. Sometimes when you do that, you can catch an edge. You never want to hurt anybody out there. You don't want to see guys limping off.
bit carrying joe last needed three
Joe really loosened us up. We were a bit tight. Joe has been carrying us on his back for the last two or three months. He's been phenomenal. We needed a goal, he went down and did what he always does and popped it in for us.
capable great knows players tool
I think Tony's a great tool for Joel because he's already been with the team. He knows a lot of the players and what we're capable of. I think it's a big advantage.
against foot great killer neck step team
Against a great team like Dallas, when you put your foot on their neck you've got to step on it. It's a killer instinct.
create front knew mean scramble time tried
I knew there wasn't much time left. I tried to just create a scramble in front of the net; I didn't mean for it to go in.
