dusty great job
Dusty did a great job and you could tell he wanted to be out there in that situation.
basically good job
I thought he did a very good job of competing. He was basically getting by with two pitches.... As much as anything, he just had a good fastball.
crazy creating excellent garner job matt seem slowing strikes supposed throw
I thought Shane Garner did an excellent job today, not only doing just what you're supposed to do, to go in, throw strikes and compete, but just slowing it down, creating some semblance of order. It didn't seem like we had that with Matt Brewer in the game. Things were just crazy and some of that was not his fault, but some of it was.
basically both closer great job man nice patent pitch type
He basically has a patent on that type of performance. He's done a great job as a both a closer and set-up man for us before, so it was nice to see him pitch well as a starter, too.
future good pitch seen tyler
I've seen Tyler better than he was today. He's not going to pitch like that in the future. He just didn't have a good day.
bunt espn matt wrong
It was an ESPN highlight. There wasn't anything wrong with the bunt or the runner. Matt just made an unbelievable play.
care
We are going to go up there and take care of business.
command dramatic excellent four increase throwing velocity
I thought his velocity would increase dramatically in college. But that didn't happen. We didn't see dramatic change. He's throwing 79-82 mph. But he has excellent command of four pitches.
close clutch consistent good kept plays struggled win
I'd like to see us become more consistent on defense, but there were some good plays that kept us in the game. We struggled some offensively, but had some clutch hits, and pitched well enough to win a close game.
challenged
Scott challenged us all day long and they outplayed us.
balls darn good handle hit seen shattered using
Shafer was pretty darn good today. I've never seen more balls hit off the handle in all of my life. If we were using wooden bats, they'd be shattered all over the field.
basketball bring budget finding helped imperative leader sports success
Obviously, with the success of basketball and football, his imprint is apparent. But he's also done a lot with the non-revenue sports and has helped bring the budget under control. Finding the right leader is imperative right now.
adam anytime bats complement four game good hits matt pitchers pitching types
Those two types of pitchers complement each other well. Anytime you give up four hits with aluminum bats in any game is a pretty good pitching performance. Adam and Matt were outstanding today.
bad baker hit kid left pitch seem slider work
It's too bad Baker left that pitch up. The kid hit it pretty well, but it was just a slider that didn't do anything. He didn't seem to have a lot today. Sometimes you just have to work through that.
