ball ended hands job keeping nice second shoots shots
Noelle shoots 55 or 56 percent. So the more shots you get her, the better off you'll be. Concordia did a nice job of keeping the ball out of her hands in the first half, but fortunately for us she was able to get going in the second and ended up having a nice game.
easy free hit lead miss point shot three
Miranda hit the three free throws, and they go down and miss an easy shot to end the half. That was a pretty big swing. An eight-point lead at that point in the game, with the way things were going, was pretty nice.
four free hard needed shots stretch swing technical time
We only made two out of the four technical free throws. So it wasn't like it was a six-point swing or anything. They just had a hard time making shots after that and we executed down the stretch and did the things we needed to do to win the game.
best bit came closer game good hard healthy hurt injury knee left lost obviously played player post remaining second shots stopping time
We came out and played a lot better in the second half, and played a lot more aggressive. We just had a hard time stopping them in the first half. They made a lot of good shots and really hustled. Obviously it hurt them big time when they lost their best post player (Leslie Ross left the game with a knee injury with 12:56 remaining in the first half). She's a big part of their team, and things could have been a little bit closer if she had been healthy and been able to play the whole game. It's unfortunate that she got hurt.
bad corner difference forced four good hit hurt last missed open percent played shoot shot shots stepped three top wayne whenever wide win
They played pretty good defense. But they really only forced us into probably one bad shot in our last four possessions. We just had some open shots that wouldn't fall. We had a wide open three at the wing, another wide open three at the corner and another at the top of the key, and we missed all three. That was one of the big things that hurt us, was our perimeter shooting. Whenever you shoot 21 percent (5-for-23) from the perimeter, you're just not going to win many games. Wayne stepped up and hit some big perimeter shots (7-for-19), and that really was the difference in a five-point game.
basket came couple good half looks played second shots
They got a couple of buckets late. But we also had some really good looks at the basket down the stretch, and we just couldn't get any to go down. We were down by 16 in the first half and came back, and we played really well in the second half to get back in it. We just couldn't make the shots at the end.
ali couple few inside level line nice shots stepped tough
Ali stepped up and had a nice game. She made a couple of tough shots inside and was able to get to the free-throw line a few times. Miranda also stepped up her level of play.
coming great job momentum scared
We had them scared and had some momentum going. We did a great job of coming back.
brought helped level national program seniors wins
These seniors helped get us 24 wins and into the post-season national tournament. They brought the program back to the level where we always want to be.
ball hit
We had some chances. We didn't hit the ball particularly well.
basketball bringing centers excelled excited front good guards help large line players recruiting
We are very excited about this large recruiting class. I feel we are bringing in some guards that can help us immediately and some forwards and centers that will probably be our front line of the future. These players are not only good basketball players but most have excelled in different sports.
composure good hall job keeping needed run second stretch
We did a good job of keeping our composure when they made the run on us in the second half. Noelle Hall had some big baskets down the stretch for us, which is what we needed her to do.
again answer executing four good minutes next played problems quick score several six supposed teams
That's what good teams are supposed to do, especially when they're at home. Good teams always have an answer when they're at home. We had four quick points, and then we didn't really score again for the next several minutes. They really played well for about six minutes there in the first half, and we had some problems executing on our end.
free good half hardly key lead line second shoot throws time
It (foul trouble) may have been a key in the second half. But we didn't shoot hardly any free throws in the first half. The second half they had more fouls than we did. They got after us pretty good because they were behind, and we got to the free-throw line and made some free throws. Obviously, any time you've got the lead and you make free throws, it's big.
