I think the key is going to be pitching and defense. Our defense is something that needs to be tightened up.
We should have scored a run in the first inning. We had a runner on third with one out and couldn't get him home. Then we gave them a run on a wild pitch. We should have won the game 6-4.
We are a partner, we have a superior product. With that combination, I think we have a very good chance.
We have a good mixture of youth and experience, but the returning guys have adjusted and played really well with the new guys. They have a very good feel for each other. They know each other's range and arm strength.
That's typical Staton. A lot of pitchers don't make the plays that he made. It helps to have a shortstop on the mound. He battled and battled. He goes as hard as he can. That's the way he plays the game.
