blake chance fed gave guys
Blake Quarles went out and gave us a chance early. I think our guys fed off that.
chance conference four good road series weekend
It was big, especially after the weekend we had. We have a chance to go on the road (today) and we haven't been too good on the road. We have four conference road series left, so we have to get better.
advantage biggest chances doubt pitchers plate played possibly sharp since took win
This is without a doubt the biggest win we have had since I've been at Mercer. Our pitchers were as sharp as they possibly could be and really set the tone. We took advantage of the chances we had at the plate and played outstanding defense.
against best chance college competition country great guys highest kept level opportunity recruit teams top
This is another great opportunity for our guys to play against top competition in one of college baseball's best atmospheres. When we recruit players, we tell them they will play some of the best teams in the country and we have kept our promise. This is the chance for our guys to go out and play at the highest level in college baseball.
counted run
That was the run that counted the most.
capitalize carried mound today
We really battled today on the mound and at the plate. We were able to capitalize on some opportunities, especially in the big inning, and that carried us to the win.
good hung
We done hung around and got a chance. I don't know if nobody's good or everybody's good.
beat best college finish happy hard home knew next performance says series team total win work
We got the kind of total team performance I knew we'd need to beat a team of this caliber. ... To come out and get a win in one the best environments in college baseball, that says a lot about our team right now. We need to work hard to finish a series if we want to get to the next level. But I'll go home happy this weekend.
gas hopefully ready regroup thursday
We just didn't get after it tonight. I think we're just a little out of gas right now, but we'll get away from here and hopefully regroup Thursday and be ready Friday.
based expected means number played rankings talented team
When we scheduled them, they weren't number one, but we expected a challenge. The rankings are based a lot on tradition, but it can change. I by no means think we have the most talented team in the country, but we played hard.
good timely
We had timely hits. And we got off to a good start.
club friday ready season
We're a different club with Brantley New on the mound, and we'll be ready Friday at 6 with our season on the line.
hit proud slow sort
We started off slow offensively, but we made some adjustments. I'm really proud of the way we hit the ball. We didn't panic. Once we got going, it was sort of contagious.
fought hard road win
We didn't play well on the road early. To win our league, you have to win on the road. That really showed me a lot about our club. We fought hard and scored some runs.
