bad breaking delivery good hopefully pitch pump repeat sit throw trouble trying work worked
We filmed him and worked with him. I don't know. I think he's just going to have to repeat his delivery better. He's not doing that. He'll throw one good pitch and two bad ones. He's having real trouble with his breaking ball. You can't sit there and pump fastballs in this league. But he's trying to work through it. Hopefully we can get him back where he was.
bats good pitching starting starts swung time
We got good starting pitching every time out. We swung the bats pretty good, but it all starts on that mound.
great pitching starts
It starts with pitching for Houston. They have great pitching and it shows. It's going to be a big series.
couple matter month pitch ready strength
That's probably a month or so off. In a couple of weeks, he'd probably be ready to pitch relief, but it's a matter of getting his strength back in the arm.
along assume mike pitch ready rotation talked
I said all along that if he was not going to be ready to assume his rightful place in the rotation than we wouldn't pitch him, and that's what we decided. I talked with Mike and his family, and everybody's in agreement.
came eight frustrated games last pitching quality starting
It came down to starting pitching and we didn't get any and we didn't make the plays. I'm as frustrated as I've even been with the starting pitching. We have had one quality start in the last eight games and that will not get it done.
allow arm believe bring extra fair felt few fully gain half needed pitch season seasons strength time weeks
He is still a few weeks away from being able to pitch effectively. We felt that he needed to take the extra time and fully allow his arm to gain strength before he pitched. I also believe it wasn't fair to him to bring him back for half a season when he can come back and pitch two full seasons at full strength.
cliff limit pitches ready
Cliff is ready to go. We'll limit his pitches to 85 or 90.
baseball ends frustrated pitching starts
I'm as frustrated as I've ever been in coaching. Baseball starts with pitching and ends with pitching, and we didn't get any.
college figure formulas high junior
I used to know all that. We used to do it by hand. I'd get the formulas out and figure it out when I was in junior college and high school.
applied baseball enter school vote
They applied to enter as a baseball school only. I'd vote for them again.
baseball bunt ended game happened liked plate starting
We didn't make the play on the bunt and it snowballed from there. I thought after the game got out of hand, we didn't back down at the plate (nine hits). We just didn't get the starting pitching. In baseball has always started and ended with starting pitching. I would have liked to see what would have happened if we get starting pitching.
Didn't know the guy's speed. You have to be aware.
ball caught good middle
We caught the ball and had good middle relief. Those were the keys.
