ballpark change confidence good help outing scenery stands
Sometimes a change of scenery can help out with the confidence level. That's as good an outing as you're going to see at this ballpark for as long as it stands here.
behind confidence confident guy helped past tonight
Here's a guy that has been through so much over the past year. He's put all that behind him to become a very confident pitcher. Tonight his confidence in his sinker helped him get 13 groundball outs.
help responsibility team whatever win
I've got an accountability and responsibility to do whatever I can to help this team win a ballgame,
help hurt opportunity rest weeks
Two weeks of rest is not going to hurt him. It may help him, because it will give him the opportunity to relax.
confidence good guys helps starting
We are new at this. We are starting to like it. We need to keep it going. Each one is a confidence builder. Each one helps the guys feel they belong. Guys each get a chance, and when they perform, they feel good about themselves.
admire asset attention brought energy fed focal gone guys handled help hot kept learned lessons months others paying players point seeing standpoint team time tough transition tremendous trying valuable waste younger
He's had to have two very very big months to get him where he is right now, but he can get hot like nobody's business. He's probably learned some very valuable lessons through this year. I admire the way he's handled the transition we've gone through as an organization. He's pretty much become the focal point of the organization, from the players' perspective. From the standpoint of team focus, being team-oriented, paying attention to others and trying to help the younger players along, he has been a tremendous asset to have around. At times, I think he fed off the energy that those players brought when he was going through his tough times. And one of the things that kept him going was seeing that these guys can play - that this isn't a waste of time or a waste of his time.
fill hear help hundred hurt means shows sure wants wins
If Quintanilla shows up and wins the job, he's going to fill that role. But it's a win-win situation. For him to go to Triple-A for a hundred more at-bats -- I'm sure that's not what he wants to hear -- but I don't think it will hurt him by any means and it could help him.
barrel bat drive focus forward help looking productive role swinging talked watching
He's swinging the bat very well. He's got some barrel down there to drive in some runs. There are some things we've talked to him about we want him to focus on and take into the season, but I'm just looking forward to watching him play in that role and getting more opportunities to help us be productive offensively as well as defensively.
butterfly cocoon cut free help man picked reading saw thinking trying understand
I really didn't understand while I was reading it, but it told a story of a man who saw a butterfly trying to come out of a cocoon, and he picked it up and cut the cocoon away from the butterfly, thinking he was going to help free it,
ball built came confidence good happen helped himself hit last later might pitches position strikes threw together
He came in and helped Band-Aid things together and put himself in a good position for what might happen later on down the road. He built his confidence up. He pitched a lot better than he did last spring. He hit his spots, threw all his pitches for strikes and got the ball down.
ability bit help himself slow trying
I'm trying to help him slow himself down a little bit. He was a little bit better (Wednesday) night, but I have an ability to slow him down a little bit more.
create game moved tried
We tried to create some game situations, and he moved around pretty well.
angry asked coming complain maybe might mound realized ring seemed series surprised turned warming watch
What surprised me was when he went out to the mound with a watch on and was, like, surprised when we asked him to take it off. I thought maybe he got a World Series ring and a World Series watch, so that's why he seemed to be angry about that. There was a little glare coming off of it. We don't complain about much here, but at times when he turned his wrist, you could see a glare warming up. Obviously, it wasn't very expensive, the way he flung it into the dugout. Then I realized it might not have been a World Series watch.
acquire baggage carrying growing last players share
What's unfortunate is the baggage the new players are carrying around. Of course, we acquire our share of it last year, but we'd like to think we are growing from that.
