best choosing friend matter problem
A friend once told me for every problem there are 10 solutions. It's just a matter of choosing the best one.
austin breaks cap ceiling lobby mind property tax
If we had a ceiling cap on appraisals, we would see those tax breaks for landowners and property owners. If I have to go to Austin to lobby for Midland County, I don't mind doing that.
Most of us didn't know how to get to our homes.
balanced budget drought elements handled
I've handled and managed a balanced budget in agriculture for 40 years, and that's very difficult. You don't know (what) the elements (will be), like the drought we're having right now.
breaks good ourselves tonight until
Until tonight we have been in every game. I think we just need some breaks to go our way. When we find ourselves we're going to be a good team.
answer asks believe hear ignored listen nobody officials provide several time voters
I will listen and if I can't provide an answer, I'll find one and get back (to them). There are several organizations that have been ignored and nobody told them why. That's one thing I believe in, if someone asks you a question, you need to know an answer or find one out. Voters want to hear back from their officials and want officials to give them the time of day.
bridge call charge county department drive happened instead people remember resident road waiting
The people we have in charge of the (county's) Road and Bridge Department are doing an outstanding job. But I remember when commissioners used to go out and drive through their county roads, instead of waiting on a disgruntled resident to call in and complain. That hasn't happened in Precinct 2 in many, many years.
guys slept
Some of the guys actually slept in the clubhouse.
people philosophy visit
Their philosophy, in my opinion, was to get out to the voters, as many people as they could, and visit with them. I'm going to try and do the same thing.
