I sympathize with Mrs. Sheehan. She feels strongly about her position. She has every right in the world to say what she believes. And I've thought long and hard about her position. I've heard her position from others, which is get out of Iraq, now. It was a joy and privilege to stand with so many people who support this woman and her cause. Even in a steady rain with umbrellas in one hand and candles in the other, Alaskans came together to show compassion and concern for a fellow citizen from afar. If only every day we would join together and support one another, perhaps we wouldn't need to be at war. Compassion and kindness can be contagious; wouldn't that be a joyful epidemic to witness?
