Osgood spent the first part of his 17-year NHL career with the Detroit Red Wings, then the New York Islanders and the St. Louis Blues before returning to Detroit in 2005. It's something I'd been looking forward to for a long time, playing a game at home. It's a lot better playing in red and white. I've been under siege a few times at the other end.
It was something I was looking forward to for a while, the chance to play at home. It was tough missing opening night, missing so many games with an injury. So now, about a month later, I get to play at home under different circumstances. I enjoyed it. Ever since I came back and put the jersey on, I've been fired up about playing here.
I've been working on things during practice, and it's coming through in the games. I feel pretty good about the job I'm doing and the role I have. I have to stay ready when Manny needs a break.
Everybody else was going to make a big deal about it, but we just decided we weren't going to get involved in that. We were just going to play. And whoever's playing, the other guy supports him and works hard. That's the way we approached it.
That was the best I've seen him play. When he plays like that, and they play stingy and they're opportunistic and they wait for their best chances, it's frustrating.
We just came in and tried to play a simple road game and that's what's helped us be successful on the road this year. We're doing the little things right and finding ways to win games.

We played good considering how much we've played so much lately -- three (games) in four (nights). We played solid in the third period and didn't make it more interesting than it needed it to be.
Manny's played really good. It's the best I've seen him play. I didn't see him play the last couple games, but (he) looks good.
He's a good goalie. He's fast and agile. He's just been hurt this season. That set him back from playing in a lot of games.
I don't know why. I've just always enjoyed playing in this building and playing against them. It's just one of those things. I can't pinpoint it other than I like playing against them.
I felt good from the start. Moving around early helped me.
What I've done in the past doesn't mean anything. I still have something to prove. I want to be here. I want to stay here, and to do that I have to play well.
To have that many goalies is tough. You have to be cohesive with your defense. With seven or eight guys, you never know what will happen there night to night. I know that if I can be solid we have a great chance to win.
