against captain couples fred goal might putt win
I thought I might whiff, I was so nervous. But I thought about two guys. I thought about Fred Couples and how big a putt he made on 18 to win against Vijay and I thought about captain Nicklaus. That's what our whole goal was this week, to win it for him.
against captain couples fred goal might putt win
The putt, I thought I might whiff, ... I thought about two things. I thought about Fred Couples making a big putt to win against Vijay on No. 18. And I thought about Captain Nicklaus. Our whole goal was to win for him.
felt golf good masters played win
I felt like I played good enough to win the Masters and I felt I played good golf today,
goal nice team win
That's what our whole goal was as a team this week, to win for him. We wanted this bad. We wanted this for Mr. Nicklaus. And it's nice to give him that.
diversity guys letting winners
That's why you see a lot of diversity of winners here. It's letting guys have a lot of chances.
ability amazing guys maybe needs nobody plug shoot shoots somebody whatever win
The one thing he has that nobody else has -- maybe Nicklaus had this a little bit, too -- is the uncanny ability to win by whatever he needs to win by. If nobody is doing anything, then he won't do anything. He'll just kind of plug along. But if guys are making birdies, then he'll try to make birdies. That's what's amazing about him. If he needs 73 to win, he'll shoot 73. If somebody shoots 64, he'll shoot 65 to win by a shot.
best emotional everybody last putt win
Jack's the best, the best of all time, and to make that putt for him is what it's all about, ... We wanted to get a win for him so much. Last night, we had a great, emotional dinner. Everybody got up and talked, and I think everybody said they wanted to go out and win this for Jack. And to do that is unbelievable.
bad beat birdie david field gave good great hit last match orleans played posted ran regret shot three tie tiger toms took win
Last year, I played good enough to win probably three tournaments. I ran into David Toms at the Match Play; he was unbelievable. Tiger and I beat the field by 7 here. At NEC, I posted a number, and he made a great birdie on 16. New Orleans (a tie for third) is the only one I regret because I feel I gave that one away. I hit a bad shot on 10, and it took me out of my rhythm.
best fun house phil saw seat watched win
I watched how to win - I had the best seat in the house and what I saw was that Phil had fun
birdie greens hang happen might trying wind
I was just trying to hang in there and make a birdie because you never know what might happen out there with the wind swirling and the greens firm.
drive win
I don't think it ever left. What he has is a drive and a will to win like no other. It's unbelievable.
afraid balance cameras cheering hard kids lead people quite ready win younger
All these younger kids, they're ready to play out here. They're ready to be in the spotlight. ... They're not afraid to win like I was, to be quite frank. It was hard with the lead out there and the cameras on you and the people cheering you. It was hard to balance all that, and these young kids now are able to do that.
calms focused good great helps keeps might next phil shots win
This is a good win for Phil. This is great for his confidence. He might go 5-0 now, which is what we're going to need. We jell really good together. He calms me down a lot and keeps me focused on the shots I need to make. I can't tell you how much it helps to have Phil Mickelson next to you in the fairway.
feels four half hung
We hung in there. We grinded one out and got a half a point, ... That feels like a win, being 2 down with four to go.
