mistake believe men
A man who knows that he is saved by believing in Christ does not, when he is baptized, lift his baptism into a saving ordinance. In fact, he is the very best protester against that mistake, because he holds that he has no right to be baptized until he is saved.
jesus mistake thinking
If you think you can walk in holiness without keeping up perpetual fellowship with Christ, you have made a great mistake. If you would be holy, you must live close to Jesus.
mistake errors bears
We are one in Christ; let us be friends with one another; but let us never be friends with one another’s error. If I be wrong, rebuke me sternly; I can bear it, and bear it cheerfully; and if ye be wrong, expect the like measure from me, and neither peace nor parley with your mistakes.
mistake heaven grace
If heaven were by merit, it would never be heaven to me, for if I were in it I should say, "I am sure I am here by mistake; I am sure this is not my place; I have no claim to it." But if it be of grace and not of works, then we may walk into heaven with boldness.
christian mistake sunday
I am ashamed of some christians because they have so much dependence on Parliment and the law of the land. Much good may Parliment ever do to true religion except by mistake! As to getting the law of the land to touch our religion, we earnestly cry, `Hands off! Leave us alone.' Your Sunday bills and all other forms of the act-of-Parliment religion seem to me to be all wrong. Give us a fair field and no favor, and our faith has no cause to fear. Christ wants no help from Caesar.
children mistake father
Repentance grows as faith grows. Do not make any mistake about it; repentance is not a thing of days and weeks, a temporary penance to be got over as fast as possible! No; it is the grace of a lifetime, like faith itself. God's little children repent, and so do the young men and the fathers. Repentance is the inseparable companion of faith.
mistake men thank-god
Men talk of "the mistakes of Scripture." I thank God that I have never met with any. Mistakes of translation there may be, for translators are men. But mistakes of the original word there never can be, for the God who spoke it is infallible, and so is every word he speaks, and in that confidence we find delightful rest.
mistake beginning-middle-and-end execution
A sermon without Christ as its beginning, middle, and end is a mistake in conception, a crime in execution.
mistake thinking saving
Sometimes we think we are too busy to pray. That is a great mistake, for praying is a saving of time.
anxiety empties empty strength today tomorrow
Our anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, but only empties today of its strength
children furnace god puts sure
As sure as God puts His children in the furnace he will be in the furnace with them
against believe cannot god seem
If we cannot believe God when circumstances seem to be against us, we do not believe Him at all.
difficulty grandeur lives men owe tremendous
Many men owe the grandeur of their lives to the tremendous difficulties
business dead guided man outfit profits sentiment serves
Show me the business man or institution not guided by sentiment and service; by the idea that "he profits most who serves best" and I will show you a man or an outfit that is dead or dying.
