From early on, we found out that these fans know the game. They have our backs, and however this season plays out, we're looking to be playing in front of them next year.

We added depth to our bench and that's something we didn't have last year. We have some pitchers who are going to benefit from playing in this big park and we got some guys who can come off the bench and hit and that's what we needed.

Everything was working. My fastball felt good, I was able to throw it with velocity, and my slider was working well. It got away from me once, but other than that, I felt it was working good.

We couldn't believe it. You figured something like that would happen, because he was still coming off the surgery. He didn't seem like he was 100 percent. But we didn't think he would have Tommy John surgery.

I don't have that overpowering pitch. I've got to stay low in the (strike) zone and get ground balls and weak fly balls.

Last year we weren't sure what was going to go on. We weren't sure how it was going to be. Now we know what to expect.

I felt good getting on the mound and going one, two, three. I'm happy it wasn't like that Tigers game. Everything was working. I threw what I wanted. The slider was working well.

I feel good, and I'm fine. My slider is working, and I have made two mistakes. That's about it. I'm going to get work and the innings in.

We're all excited to get going. We had a lot going on in spring training. It feels good to know the season is finally here.

It's going to work out very well for us. Last year, there was no shade out in left field. In right field, you have everything. We are not going to get worn out after sitting in the sun, especially during the summer out here. You get worn down real quick. It's going to be a big boost to us.
