I told the guys that now I'm tired and now I got to lead off the inning. They were joking about it. I wasn't trying to do too much. Basically, in my mind, I was trying to get on base.

When he first hit it, I thought it was going to just be a fly ball, but it took off. It was (going to be) a homer. It was out. Same with Edmonds. The ball just took off. The ball was carrying out.

They haven't been intimidated. Every time they go to the plate, their confidence is enough that they feel like they belong here. That's great because the only thing that goes against you when you get to the big leagues is fear.
excuse lit
He doesn't want to make any excuses. If he got lit up, he's going to say that he got lit up, and he's not going to say it was because of this or that. That's the way he is.
couple momentum quite strike
I had fouled a couple down the line, and you strike out after that quite often. I just didn't want to strike out and wanted to keep the momentum going.

I'm happy to be here. I can only do so much, so it will take the whole team to (win the WBC). It's nice for baseball to see fans from different countries having the opportunity to see big league players together on one team.
