Seeing the same coverages, the same personnel, and for us to change the whole scenery, and bring somebody else in that's necessarily competitive, a professional competitiveness, where guys are respecting each other's careers, but yet are getting better. For us [players] to come out here and a get a win, I think it helped us with those practices.
When people see you do alright, then you start winning their hearts. It's not going to come easy, though. It doesn't matter how many people you do right, you're still going to be hated by so many others. You can't live your life trying to make everybody happy.
You don't go into the game to compete. You go into each game to win.
Winning is contagious, you know its a thought. It's not something that just happens on Sundays. You know that's something, like you have to live like a winner. You have to think like a winner. You have to eat like a winner. Everything that you do with life, you gotta be a winner.
I've said numerous times that I play to have a stage that people will listen to, and I pray to God that I do right by my influence.
There's not a Sunday that goes past that I'm not excited to play this game. I feel as if I'm a lucky individual to have the opportunity to play this game, and when I do have the opportunity to finally play, you can bet your last dollar I will be excited to play.
Well, I'm trilingual myself. I am, I know how to speak Spanish, English, obviously, and I speak pretty good Ebonics.
I don't even want to touch on the topic of black quarterback, because I think this game is bigger than black, white or even green.
Just like the NBA, the NFL has guys that can pull off multiple looks, ranging from street style to more dapper, buttoned-up looks, and people are starting to notice.
The NBA definitely has some trendsetters that stay up on the latest fashion, but I think you're starting to see guys like myself and others get some much-deserved respect in the style department.
My suggestion for a fast style upgrade would be to embrace a pop of color or pattern. Try layering a bright, pullover knit on top of a dress shirt with a subtle or bold pattern.
I think dressing nowadays went from trying to fit in to wearing something to try to stick out.
I grew up trying to be like my idols, and one of the main people in my life was my father. He played football, and when your father is telling stories about the game he played... Everybody wants to be like their father.
My parents do a lot of things behind the scenes that go unnoticed.
