arm dropped great individual keeps last position slot talked tough year
The thing I look at most is the individual pitchers. And I thought Bautista's arm slot was in a great position. It's something we've talked about earlier. Last year his arm slot dropped a little bit, but his arm is in great position right now, and if he keeps it that way, it's going to be tough to keep him out of the rotation.
coming depending few guess guys players year
Depending on what year it is, with the young players we have coming up in the organization, I would guess there's going to be a few of our guys in that game.
committed continue count decent himself looks needs seems work year
He seems committed to getting himself in decent shape. Health-wise he looks good. He needs to continue to work on his conditioning, so we can count on him being there all year long.
arm asked conditions fifth gotten last quicker remember showing spring starter stuff tells time year
His stuff has gotten better each time out. What that tells me is his arm is quicker than it has been. Last year at the end and in Spring Training, he wasn't showing the quick arm that I remember seeing. He has done everything we asked him to do and that's really what the conditions were. We need a fifth starter and he's going to be that guy.
last mac obvious year
He was the obvious choice. He's got the stuff, and he did it last year when Mac wasn't available, so he has some experience.
faced last lift teams tempo today year
He pitched as well today as he did in Chicago. It's a big lift for us. Those last two teams he's faced are not slouches. His tempo was outstanding. I like his tempo. Last year his tempo was slow.
seen unusual
I've seen Elmer a lot and that's not unusual for him.
flow game guy
It was the other extreme, but a guy like Santana can do that to you. He can make things look real lethargic. The game just didn't have a flow to it.
ball pitch pitching talking wants winter
I still don't think that he'll pitch for us. I know he wants to but ... he's talking about pitching winter ball and we're going to talk about that, too.
months needed seen three
I've been here three months and I've seen just about everything I needed to see.
five problem
Five in a row, ... The problem with that is you see it better.
maybe might pitch thinking
Right now, we're thinking he might pitch one, maybe two more times,
quite
Quite honestly, I think that is a long shot.
fun guys hit opposed sit watch
Offensively, it was fun to just sit back and watch our guys hit as opposed to scratching out every run.
