broken changes dreams feelings game given guys hearts human iq last normal seen series wins year
We had our hearts broken last year, and this year we've seen our off-season dreams of a World Series erode and go away, ... It's normal human feelings to be disappointed. In this game your IQ changes with wins and losses, and right now we're not real smart. But the guys are competing. We haven't given up.
attacks change gold himself love mark people position turned
One of the things I love about Mark, Mark attacks his weaknesses. He turned himself into a Gold Glove first baseman. A lot of people would have used the position change as an excuse. He's very driven, a self-starter.
amazing bit changed lucky realize throughout
He's a treasure. Every day that passes, we all realize how lucky we are to have him. Rudy hasn't changed one bit throughout this process. He's an amazing man, very strong.
ballpark change command half inner john outer plate plays speeds
John was outstanding. We all know how our ballpark plays for left-handers if they can command the inner half of the plate and change speeds on the outer half.
behind hopefully last piece putting
In a lot of our minds, hopefully this is the last piece of putting it behind us.
good knew mark selfish
It's something that Mark embraced. He wanted to be the best. It wasn't for selfish reasons, but he knew we were going to need him to be a good first baseman.
feeding frenzy mound negative positive side spring throw
It's Spring Training. I know how that goes, ... First, you throw on the side and you get a positive or negative feeding frenzy. Then you throw off the mound and get a positive or negative feeding frenzy ... and when you're done, you throw all of it out the window. It's not just Chan Ho. It's everybody.
continue
It's something we have been and will continue to monitor.
good step wants
It's something he wants to do, and we think it will be another good step for him.
good healthy news throwing
It's not good news to see Soriano and Putz healthy and throwing well.
decide finished goes periods product tough
It's not a finished product but he goes through periods where it's pretty good. We've got to decide if it's there yet. That's a pretty tough call.
balls hit
They hit a lot of balls that snuck through.
capable continuing extend four good help nights pitching three
It was just not his night. Three out of four nights ... I'm not going to extend him there. He wasn't pitching as good as he's capable of. He's scuffling. There's no sense in him continuing to scuffle if I can help it.
themselves
These things have a way of working themselves out over a 162-game season.
