anybody bad january performance stepped worry
Why? Because it's January and you can't worry about it. I don't think we had a bad performance, but I didn't think anybody stepped up and had a big performance.
anybody challenge field games good mental team training
With a good training camp, good preparation games and the right mental approach, our team will be a team that's going to challenge anybody on the field in this World Cup.
camp critical february games january towards view
We view this camp and the games in January and February as critical towards our preparation for Germany.
accept bit build felt full game hard magnitude prepare properly responsibility saying strong team time worked
We've worked real hard to build our team to where it is today, and to not prepare properly to play a game of that magnitude is a mistake, and I accept the full responsibility for that. If I felt that it wasn't the right time for us to play that game, I should have been a little bit strong in saying this is not the right time to play.
We really didn't have much to look at in preparation for this match.
basically fitter minutes team
We basically choreographed this game. The team that's the fitter team is our team. Over 90 minutes it was going to be obvious. After 35 minutes you could see they were basically done.
believe edge gives guys hopefully june played team
We have 12 guys who have been to a World Cup. On June 12, we play a team with no one who has played in a World Cup. I'd like to believe that hopefully gives us an edge in this game.
anyone beginning purpose quickly
Obviously, this is a relief. The whole purpose at the beginning of qualifying is to quickly make the World Cup, and we did it before anyone else.
good position
It's not perfect, but it's a good position to be in.
abroad blend nuance players team
The nuance with the U.S. team in qualifying is always, 'How do we blend our domestic- and foreign-based players? Now it's more complicated because we probably have more players abroad than ever before.
certainly close efforts fans fitting front game great held hopeful last match pleased process qualify supported supporting tradition
It's only fitting that our last game in 2005 is being held in a place that has such a great tradition of supporting U.S. Soccer. We are certainly hopeful that this match will be a celebration of our efforts to qualify for the World Cup, and we're pleased to close out the process in front of fans who have supported us so well over the years.
finish number tells work worse
The number that's going to work for me is the one that tells us we can't finish worse than third.
breeze
It's difficult. You look at it and you'll say it's a breeze and it wasn't a breeze.
build continue experience forward guys hopefully move towards
It was an important experience for our young guys and hopefully we can continue to build as we move forward towards the World Cup.
