ball catch compensate eventually focus great hope others played running solid special
Focus on what you have, not what you don?t have. We had great defense; we were running the ball well, played solid special teams. That?s what you focus on and hope the others can compensate and eventually catch up.
anybody ball delivery familiar guys hand hard helped helps hesitate himself hurts indeed jump nice sure themselves throwing
Ramsey has a nice delivery and the ball comes out of his hand really well. It's hard because they're all throwing to guys they're not familiar with. But he was impressive. I hesitate to say anybody helps or hurts themselves in this environment, but I'm sure he helped himself with some teams. Ramsey could indeed jump into that No. 3 position.
ball inability run
Probably the most disappointing thing was our inability to run the ball, ... We have to be able to run the ball to be good.
ball leads ought run running
At some time, we ought to be able to run the ball in, ... which leads us back to, we've got to get back to running the ball a little more consistently.
ball carried couple needed pleased todd
We got done what we needed to get done, ... Jamal carried the ball very well, Todd got a couple of carries, and we're pleased we got that done.
ball control team
That was very pivotal, very important. Obviously, you can't let a team control the ball that way.
account bad ball consistency continue next people presence rely run step todd ways
We need a consistency there, ... We've got to continue to find ways to get the ball in Mark's hands, which we'll do. It's not bad having Derrick Mason, Todd Heap, run the ball well. But to have another presence that people have to account for on the back side, with some consistency that the quarterbacks can rely on, that's the next step for us.
adage ball gets hands interest itself lends point until
Getting the ball in Jamal's hands more, which is always a point of interest for everybody, lends itself to the old adage that a back doesn't get cranked up until he gets to that 20th, 25th run. That may have something to do with it,
ball believes coming defense guy offense running seems win year
But this year in the league, defense and running the ball seems to be the key. And this is coming from a guy who believes offense is the way to win a championship.
ball catch games ourselves position run therefore throw
If we're going to win, we're going to have to run the ball more, ... Therefore we'll have to be in games that are more controllable that we don't put ourselves in a position where we have to throw to catch up.
ball bit build certain certainly change defense enhanced good profile remain run success sure thrown tried
We've had a lot of success with a certain profile, ... I'm not sure that as much as we've tried to change the profile a little bit -- and I think we have enhanced it, I think we've thrown the ball a little bit better -- it hasn't been as productive. I think we can build on that, but our profile should remain the same: Play good defense and run the ball well, which we haven't done in two games. That certainly has to be a focus.
ball catch force guy guys hand lack move plays shots three turn ways
It wasn't for lack of shots, ... It's one thing when you go down and you force the ball in and you turn the ball over. We've done that. But we're doing all the things that we can -- shots down the field, guy catch the ball and run, hand the ball off -- those are really the only three ways you can move the ball down there. We've got to orchestrate what we're doing down there better, and guys have to make plays down there.
ball defense dictates exactly expansion game good offense points profile run score special throw
We want to score more points, ... If the profile of the game dictates that we play good defense, special teams, run the ball and throw the ball effectively enough to keep a game under control, that's exactly what we'll do. Yes, we'd like to score more points. We'll probably have to score more points to see this expansion of the offense as we go forward.
ball bell cow far kyle numbers surely team though throw thus
Kyle surely would like to throw the ball more, but he understands who the bell cow on this team is. Even though the numbers don't look very good, I'm very comfortable thus far with his decision-making process.
