ball battle behind great plays
I had to battle every inning. I was going to let them put the ball in play and there were some great plays behind me.
ball pasture
It's like a pasture out there. But you've got to keep the ball down, regardless.
aggressive ball bat elevated four good hair home inches jason lane might pitch run strike
The home run ball to Jason Lane was four inches off of the ground. It was a good pitch but he was able to put the bat on the ball, get it elevated and get it out. I might have been just a hair up in that inning but I was still aggressive in the strike zone.
bats sooner
Try to keep our bats quiet, ... and sooner or later, we're going to get you.
damage glad innings limited mistakes
When mistakes are made, there's nothing you can do about it. I'm just glad we limited that inning to only one run. It was one of those innings that really could have got out of hand. We had some damage control.
faced hardly report saying scouting
We went over the scouting report and I didn't know hardly anybody. I'm not saying they're not good, but I hadn't faced anybody.
faced hardly scouting
We went over the scouting report, and I didn't hardly know anybody. Not that they weren't good. I just never faced them before.
change changed might swinging
I didn't change anything, ... They might have changed their approach. They were swinging at the first pitch.
beginning happen mistakes
Mistakes happen and there is nothing you can do about it. Sometimes they happen at the beginning of the year, sometimes at the end of the year.
cap chance felt great job sure team tip
My job is to make sure I give our team a chance to win, ... I felt like I did that. I have to tip my cap to Ohka. He pitched a great game, too.
chance felt job team
My job is to give our team a chance to win. I felt like I did that.
knocked moving walked
When I walked over there, he wasn't moving. He was knocked out. He wasn't moving at all.
both face knocked moving talking walked woke
I thought it was his arm, I didn't know his face was in the way. When I walked over there, he wasn't moving, he wasn't talking - he was knocked out. He wasn't moving at all. LaRue and I both thought it was his shoulder, but when he woke up he said his face was numb.
good happens
It happens. Why it happens is because I didn't make good pitches.
