The great thing here is that he's the savior now, ... There's no pressure on him. He isn't coming into the season with these great expectations that they had at the end of the '90s. This really should be a lot of fun for him . . . I've got to be honest with you: I can't remember the last time I saw him this happy. I mean, he's giddy.
The great thing here is that he's the savior now,
I'm sure maybe in a couple of weeks the feet are going to start to hurt again, the neck will hurt again, the back, ... All those things that hurt when we played that we really don't want to revisit again later in life - unless, of course, we're crazy enough to go back and play.
I'm picking Mike Sherman in Green Bay. Listen, injuries are part of the game and injuries are mounting, especially offensively. Talk about whether or not Brett Favre is going to retire. I think there is a lot of pressure up there in Green Bay because they always think they are going to win a Super Bowl because they have Brett Favre.
It's a match made in heaven for football purists.
(The turnover) has more to do with the fluctuation of coaches than anything else. How can you have stability at quarterback if you can't figure out the coaching staff?
They'll be fine. As long as they play the Bengals every week.
They all think the nuttier they are, the more likely they are to get on David Letterman or Jay Leno, ... Everybody wants to get out there and talk the talk.
They all like to chirp, ... There is such a blatant level of competition between these guys. It's like the scoring title in the NBA.
Now, all of a sudden, he's thrown into the mess of quarterbacks that I'm a part of.
I got the title for you, ... Table For One.
The day that they signed him, if I was a Jet player, I'd be like, 'OK, we're back in this thing,' ... At least they have somebody to rally around. If they win this week, which I think they can . . . maybe they get a little confidence and they'll start surprising themselves. That's why I say, 'Why not?'
It seems like he's embracing all of this, which is great. He doesn't shy away from it.
With this defense and the way that this division is right now, why not?
