real party thinking
I think the problem in the Republican Party is really not money. I think they've got lots of it. I think it is theory of the case - why are we here, what is our message, how to connect to the real world.
confused thinking media
I think that everyone is kind of confused about the information they get from the media and rightly so. I'm confused about the information I get from the media.
thinking political literature
Certain political figures think when you call them and ask them for a comment; that you are somehow doing something that you shouldn't be doing.
thinking arguing reviews
I don't think it's useful for somebody to argue with reviews.
character thinking giving
I don't think voters give a hoot about the character of their political advisors, except to the extent that character reflects on the candidates.
smart fighting thinking
I think people are smart enough to sort it out. They know when they're watching one of these food fight shows where journalists sit around and yell and scream at each other, versus serious issue reporting.
believe thinking air
I don't think there will ever be a permanent truce, but I believe the media needs to be more careful and be willing to count to 10 before rushing on the air or into print.
disappointment thinking giving
I think there are people out there who just kind of say, let's repot the plant. Let's give somebody else a chance. And it's not just anger or disappointment in their lives, it's the sense of, let's shake this up. And no one is shaking it up as much as Trump.
drama thinking quality
I think journalism gets measured by the quality of information it presents, not the drama or the pyrotechnics associated with us.
taken
I should have, as I have many, many times, taken him into my confidence. And I did not.
denounce great tradition white
There's a great tradition in the White House, if you don't like the story, you denounce the reporter.
aggressive agreeing caused change element engagement forced job less protect reporter reporters reporting secretive sure terms
The terms of engagement change when a reporter and reporters are being subpoenaed, agreeing to testify, being forced to testify, being jailed. That's the new element in this. And what it did, it caused me to become even more secretive about sources, and to protect them. I couldn't do my job if I couldn't protect them. And to really make sure that I don't become part of this process, but not to be less aggressive in reporting the news.
agencies background bush defense ford given house intelligence intelligence-and-intellectuals list months national rounds secretary security time top
Given Cheney's background on national security going back to the Ford years, his time on the House Intelligence Committee, and as secretary of defense, Bush said at the top of his list of things he wanted Cheney to do was intelligence. In the first months of the new administration, Cheney made the rounds of the intelligence agencies - the CIA, the National Security Agency, which intercepted communications, and the Pentagon's Defense Intelligence Agency.
deal secret
I don't say there's a secret deal or any collaboration on this,
