alexander ball biggest game goal
Rufus Alexander made probably the biggest play of the game down at the goal line, and he got the ball back for us.
both completing couple game guys per percent strong throwing yards
Together, both quarterbacks are throwing for about 250 yards per game and completing about 70 percent of their passes. That's pretty strong for a couple of guys who don't have a lot of experience.
against game haunt instance kept knee maybe position reason rotten side texas
What we were doing at the end of the game, we've never done before. The other side of it is, if we don't do it, for instance when we did take a knee against Texas Tech, does that then come back and haunt you? Is that the reason that maybe kept you out of something, and how do you live with that as well? Its really a rotten position to play in.
fade games remembers
I don't think so, ... He remembers those other 12 games. They didn't fade from his memory.
forgot games guys played
You guys probably forgot how he played those first 12 games,
continue develop football game passing past players throw weeks whatever year
We need to develop a passing game that our players can execute. For whatever reason, for the past two weeks what we have been doing hasn't been productive. That is being about as kind as I can be. We are not going to continue to go through the year like this and not be able to throw the football some.
best building game happy iowa program step sure watch
With all my Iowa ties, I do my best to watch the game indifferently. But you have to be happy for Dan. He's been building that program and that sure is a big step for them.
believe close early games intend late played snaps
We (coaches) believe that Rhett has played well enough and is close enough that we do intend to get him snaps early in games as well as late in games.
block care game grand guard nose run scheme three throw ways
It matters, your game plan. But in the end, there are a lot of ways to play defense, and there are a lot of ways to run or throw the football. If you don't block anybody, I don't care what your grand scheme is, if that nose guard is in your backfield three yards, it doesn't (matter).
game physical watching
Watching the TCU game and critiquing it Sunday) on tape, we just weren't very physical up front. TCU just outplayed and outcoached us.
committed game good job run stopping
They have always really committed to the run game and stopping the run. They do a good job of it.
deal defense fine games great margin played point positive winning
There's a very fine margin in winning and losing, ... The way we've played in so many games, the point production, the great defense -- there's a lot more to deal with that's positive than negative.
ball game guys turn
This game isn't real complicated, in that if you turn the ball over you're going to get beat. Those guys (quarterbacks) each need to be more responsible with the ball.
actions assuming consider entertain game good justify quit reason seen shows status team until
No status right now. It's not something I said I'd even consider until after the (TCU) game. It's after the game and I haven't seen him. So, I'm assuming he's quit the team for good and until I know different, we'll see. I won't entertain anything until he shows he has a good reason or he can justify what his actions have been.
