anywhere game pompous whatever win
We can win any game anywhere in this league, ... That's not being pompous or whatever else, we feel that we can. We're not going to win them all, but we feel that we can.
areas game gifted looking sure work
We're looking for him to put it all together. For sure he's gifted enough in many areas of the game but he also has work to do.
couple decisions defensive fly goal good half leads needed past recent trips
The only fly in the ointment was that goal in the first half in one of their infrequent trips (in the Wizards' defensive end). There were a couple of decisions we needed to make better. Then we got a little apprehensive after that. We were teetering a little bit. Two-zero leads in the recent past haven't been good to us.
both far field good ready
I thought it was a good excursion to Germany. I think we got a lot of things done both on the field and on field. As far as the all of us are concerned, I think we are ready to go tomorrow.
physical presence scares
Just his physical presence (6-foot-5, 210) scares the you-know-what out of you.
attacking came confidence looking shutting trying
I thought we came out attacking and shutting them down, trying not to give them the confidence that they would have to be looking for on the road.
ball both defensive night offensive played plays sides sure turn
We played decently, but it didn't turn into prosperity. ... We've got to make better plays on both sides of the ball and that's what the night was. One better defensive play and one better offensive play, because we sure had the opportunities.
coming players standards
Without a doubt. They know what the standards are. The young players coming in, they are guessing.
deal time
When they come in here it's time to sharpen things and it's time to be able to deal with things collectively.
elated giving goal goals good second tied
We're not frustrated, but we're not elated either. We scored the first goal, we scored the second goal after they tied it up, so we feel good about that. We don't feel good about giving up two goals off restarts.
aggressive ball beat beating create good hold obviously others overly people positions roll service three utilize
Those are the Big Three but obviously the other people can beat you or keep you from beating them. (Ruiz) can create his own shot. He can utilize the service of others of any kind. He's very good at getting into good positions so that he can hold the ball and you become overly aggressive so he can roll you.
both extremely guy impression last midfield played sides summer versatile worked
Watson worked out with us this summer and I have scouted him at New Mexico. I think he is an extremely versatile guy who can play in the midfield on both sides and even defensively in the midfield. The impression we got from him last summer was important because he played with and competed with our guys.
good situation training
We know it's always going to be a good training situation for our guys.
artistry ball credit dominated effort finally games goals hanging hard majority matter riding scrappy stand technical time today vast won
Today wasn't a matter of hanging in there. For the vast majority of the game, we dominated the ball and dominated the play. We all know that games aren't just won on artistry and on ball possession. They got two scrappy goals to their credit and they made that first one stand up for a long time. When we finally answered, they got another one. You congratulate them for their effort and grit. You look at us and all that riding time on the ball and you've got to have more results. I thought we had more opportunities today than they did. That's a positive. Games aren't always won by tactical and technical things, they are sometimes won by hard work. They got the better of us in that way.
