Our guys had some quality at bats even though we struck out a lot early. We took some good things from those at bats and didn't get discouraged. We learned things each time. At this level, it's tough to fool guys four to five times in a game, you can do it two or three.

Absolutely. That gave us the extra cushion we needed. That was a tribute to how our guys can swing the bats.

When you have an at-bat like that, it wears the pitcher. It sets the tone. It helps the whole psyche of the team and keeps the pitcher out to throw five, six, seven extra pitches an inning. That adds up. (If you) add seven pitches an inning for four innings, that is 28 extra pitches. Through four innings (Walker) was at 73 pitches.

This was a tough place to play. We've never practiced under lights before. The conditions made it more of a twilight game than an afternoon game.

We've been pretty banged up. Outside the first game, we have not had our whole team healthy. Hopefully, this week, we will.

You are looking at it after years of development. The thing was, years ago it was very difficult to schedule but look at us now.
