We need to make them beat us with the long ball. We can't let (Bishop Guilfoyle point guard Sean) McConnell penetrate as much as he did in the last game. He was able to get inside and get the ball to (Kevin) Floyd and Meyers.

I like us matching up with 3-point shooters. My theory is if you're going to live by it, you're going to die by it. How many times do you see somebody make more than eight or 10 in a game. If they make eight, that's 24 points and if they don't get second or third shots off of them, they're fighting to get 40 points on us with our size.

He's really been stepping up. He's averaging about 18 points over the last three game and that's a big bonus to have a point guard who can do that.

We just never recovered. They make you play that game because they come out and full-court press you the whole time. That's what I'm looking for again Saturday. We know they're going to throw that at us.

Our size has helped us a lot. Our league has thrown every defense you can imagine to try and stop our height.

We scored a lot in transition. Of course it helps when you have guys 6-7, 6-8 making the outlet pass. We had some big baskets out of transition.

I wouldn't trade any one of those guys for anything. They play with a lot of heart. I yell at them and they still keep coming back and playing hard. It's been a lot of fun.
district next ready round shot
This was the one I wanted. I want the district championship but I wanted to get to the round where you know you have a shot to get to the next round. They're excited. After the game, they were asking, 'When's the next game?' They're ready to play.

Both teams played their hearts out. That's the way a rivalry is suppose to be played. It was a total team effort and one of the most exciting I've ever coached in.

It was just a slow, slow paced game. We were down 20-14 there and came back and tied it up at the end of the half. It was a good team effort and a nice win.

It's a win. But, as expected, both teams played hard, both teams hustled and luckily we had that run at the end that was the difference. It was a matter of we got more down the stretch than they did.
district hang happy nice title
We're happy that we're going on to the (state playoffs) but there hasn't been a district title ever so we'd like to hang that in the gymnasium. That'd be nice to look at.
control couple definitely player players successful
We definitely have to control O'Connor and we've been successful at controlling just one player but they have a couple other players who can shoot.
