defense fun mistakes played playing watching
Our defense is all over the place, and it's so much fun watching them play. Offensively, we haven't played mistake-free football, but we've been playing well and we're going to have to keep doing that if we want to go to where we want to go.
best certain defines football gets good instead last matter mistakes playing playoffs season totally tougher within year
You go out and you try to do a little too much instead of playing within yourself and playing within the system. The thing this year is to try not to make mistakes you made last year. (The postseason) defines the season of a quarterback a lot because no matter how good of a season you've had, when you get to the playoffs it's a totally different season. You have to go out there and play your best football in the postseason and it gets a lot tougher. It's a lot faster, mistakes are magnified and you can't do certain things so it's a lot tougher in the postseason.
approach believe believes care continue except favorite nobody ourselves people playing underdog
I think people have misconstrued that. I don't think we've been playing the underdog card. We've been playing the us-against-the-world card. I don't care if you're a favorite or not, you can still play that card. I think it's us. We believe in ourselves and we believe that nobody believes in us except us. That's the approach we're going to continue to take because that's all we need is each other.
fit planning plays run start strength
We haven't run a lot of plays that fit me getting out of the pocket, ... Once we start game-planning, that's to our strength and our advantage.
adds bounce changed dimension football given outside people playing seeing willie yards
Willie has been playing great. He adds a different dimension to what people are used to seeing when they think Steelers football. They think hard, grind-it-out football getting two yards at a time. Not that we really have changed that, but Willie kind of adds that dimension that he can bounce it outside and get you 10, 15 or 20 yards on any given run.
affect playoff
It is Carson's first playoff game, but he's a better quarterback than I was. So I don't know how much it will affect him.
bring defense few guys hard identify move people plays similar
No one plays a similar defense to what we play. I think our guys move around so much it's hard to identify who people are. I think with (the Texans), they kind of show you what they have and then they'll bring a few things off of it.
against close felt playing sync
When you play in the preseason, you don't game-plan. You're playing against yourself, really. I just felt like we were really close to being in sync and being really good.
brings energy excitement love playing
We love playing for him because of his excitement and the energy that he brings to the table.
continue couple expect hard last playing season week weeks
We've been playing the last couple weeks like it's a one-game season for us and we have to continue to do that. This week is no different. We expect them to come in and play very hard and we have to have our 'A' game.
fuel hard helped high learned played receiver ultimately until wide
There will always be hard times. Use adversity to fuel your fire. In high school, I wanted to play quarterback but couldn't until I was a senior. I played wide receiver instead, and this ultimately helped me because I learned more about the game.
home winning playoffs
In the playoffs, it is do or die. You win or you go home. As a competitor, you love it.
games play balls
Usually when we lose a game is because we turn the ball over or not play well enough and usually it is the turnover thing. We have to take care of the ball. It is starts with me and not turning it over.
winning play numbers
The biggest thing isn't necessarily how I play, but that we win. That's my number-one goal. I could be the worst quarterback out there, but if we come out with a victory that's all that matters to me.
