We went flat and started coasting after the 7-1 lead after two innings. But I thought we played pretty good for the first game of the season.

Duquesne played with a lot of energy and hustle. We didn't match that energy in the first half. But the game is 40 minutes long. I thought our size and strength eventually would take care of that. Blocking shots is the last line of defense, you don't want to rely on it. It's nice that he can bail you out, but you don't want to rely on it because it doesn't give him a chance to play the quality game that he can.

There's nothing wrong if you're not my type of guy, but I think guys should have the fire burning inside them. I always knew what games to get up for. I can read. I knew who was who. There's a discipline in me. I take a deep breath. Do I need to act out? Or is there another way. I'm not looking for a crown or brass ring. I just look to get the best out of each player.

We played a number of games with only six guys, and obviously had some success. Roles, not only are they changing and they're being defined, but the guys are trying to adjust. It's not always as simple as you like.

I thought they just made a couple of key mistakes in front of their own goal. It looked like a little miscommunication between their sweeper and their goalie sometimes, and we exploited that. The game wasn't played all that pretty. We just happened to score.

I think we handle the ball well and I think we should always have a lot of assists. It was the kind of game I was extremely pleased about and was pretty much the way we like to play.
