It is no longer the issue of whether one should focus on China, or India versus China, but of India and China.
I think they are getting their act together now. Fundamentally GM is a very strong company. I think it will pull out of it faster than people expect them to.
Our financial solutions and technology businesses delivered yet another quarter of double digit growth. Similarly, services such as testing, technology infrastructure management and enterprise application services grew ahead of the overall growth rate.
Our clients are under a lot of pressure to get new products faster into the market. Their core employment isn't adequate for it, so they're looking for partners who can do it for them.
For us Japan is a much higher priority. We find there are challenges in China -- the stability of people, intellectual property, uncertain cash flows. They are hard-working people but they don't have democracy. When they have a transition to democracy there are going to be huge challenges.
Looking ahead, the prospects for growth looks exciting, ... We exited the quarter ended September 2005 with the strong tailwind of business momentum. The challenge we have is to sustain and build upon it.
The global IT business sustained its momentum recording double-digit volume growth sequentially resulting in revenues (from the information technology business alone) for the quarter being 430.7 million dollars against our guidance of 422 million dollars.
The dividend payouts will be more generous than in the past two years and will be broadly in line with what we told investors in the last quarter,
