anywhere capable fly good great learn near win
I think it wasn't anywhere near what we're capable of, but I think it's still good enough to win. As long as we can learn on the fly and still win games, that will be great for us in the long run.
capable ourselves position strong three win
I think it's very important to have three strong, strong games. I think we want to do the things we're capable of and put ourselves in a position to win at the end.
great win
I really thought we were going to win that game. It was disappointing, but it's a great memory.
athletics finding good half job struggles team ways
We got up by 11; I don't know if we got comfortable or what. We're finding a lot of different ways to lose. We had some turnovers and they are a team that struggles in the half court. If you let them use their athleticism . . . they are pretty good. They did a good job of getting out and running.
exactly finger good hard playing
We're just not playing very good basketball. It's hard to put a finger on exactly what it is.
corner identity infancy longer ourselves period success time trying turned
We're still in a building/rebuilding stage. We're still trying to find an identity as a team. We've had success in doing that so far, but it's kind of in it's infancy stages. I think we need to do the things we've been doing for a longer period of time before you can really say we've turned a corner and established ourselves without him.
early guys man move next opportunity preaching selfish team trying
I think early on guys were trying to feel each other out trying to move the ball. I don't think we have a selfish team by any means, but we have guys that are confident, that feel like they can take their man at times. I think one of the things we have been preaching early on is that the next man can take his man, too. If there's a better opportunity we have to move the ball.
becomes cost error execute game half margin missing opened
When you're missing people, your margin of error becomes much smaller. You have to execute things a lot better. We had a lot of turnovers in the first half that really cost us and opened up the game for them.
basketball fun playing
With the way things have been, we don't want to get too excited. It's fun to be playing basketball now. It wasn't there for a while.
error execute level margin talent
With the talent level we have right now, our margin of error is small. We can't get away with the same things we could have when our talent level was that much higher. We need to execute things better to make up for the talent we don't have.
dug
We never dug down, we never made a stand, we can't just show up.
balls execute guy half loose scores second
We got the loose balls in the second half that we didn't get in the first half. Those are the things we have to do. When you have to make up for a guy who scores 19, 20 points, you have to execute better. You have to do the little things.
advantage against build character game great hard loss mistakes opportunity san tomorrow
It's hard to really build on this one. We have a big character game tomorrow against San Antonio, another great team, off a loss like this. But it is an opportunity to make up for the mistakes we made tonight, and we have to take advantage of that.
agree biggest calling concerns credit detroit disagree doubt favorites finals individual matter playing row saying sees won
I'm not saying I completely agree with him, but Detroit should be the favorites because they went to the Finals two years in a row and they won a championship. I can't disagree with him on that. I think there's no doubt one of our biggest concerns is playing as a team. We know we have a lot of individual talent. It's a matter of playing as a team. I give him credit for calling it how he sees it.
