front goals needed nice players plays score skilled tough underrated win
We just didn't get the goals we needed and nowadays, if you only score two, you're not going to win most nights. They have some really skilled players up front who are very underrated and they made some nice plays out there. It's tough when you play as well as they do and you don't get the win.
key legs nice played
It's just nice to get in there, get my legs under me and get into a game. The big key was that we played so well defensively.
few guys struggling teams
Yeah, it's a little different right now, that's for sure. In a few weeks, when some teams are struggling at the position, I think you'll see again, some of the guys not working now will get calls.
draw good plays stay team tough trying
That was tough night. We didn't draw it up that way, that's for sure. We're trying to battle. We're trying to stay with them. But you play a good team like that, and they made some really good plays out there.
came hung
That's the new league. Three-nothing isn't safe. You have to give them credit, too. We didn't just completely quit. They came really hard. We were able to get out of the second, which was huge, at 3-2, and we hung on.
both exhibition fans few fresh good great happy hockey mad nearly players quite resentment saw season seem shows toward
From what I saw at the exhibition games, there isn't nearly as much resentment as I thought there would be toward us. I think that shows you how hockey fans feel. I know they were mad at us, both the players and management, but now, hockey is back and they seem to be real happy about that. It's a fresh start, and hopefully, a new season that will be a good one for us. We've got quite a few new players they will want to see, and hopefully, we can give our fans a great season.
adjust difference goal guys whatever
I don't think it will make much difference in the goal scoring. The guys will adjust to whatever they're wearing.
forgotten good happen night past played series
I guess, in a way, it's good that that didn't happen this past April. I don't think any of us who played in that series have forgotten it, though. I know it's a night I'll never forget.
figure fine game ready rough scoring though
No, I like the game even though it can be pretty rough on goalies sometimes. I like it when we're scoring them the way we were tonight. I don't think there's much the goalies can do, but just be ready at all times, and the defenses will figure it out and get better. As long as we win, I'm fine with it.
felt good
I felt good on the ice, the first day is always hard. It felt better than I thought it would.
bear chances good guys hump teams
We've just got to get over the hump here. You've got to bear down and not let guys get chances like that. We just can't let guys get those chances. Good teams don't do that, and it's frustrating.
bottom found hit nights seen tonight
We thought the bottom was hit two nights ago and tonight we found a way to go lower. We've seen China.
tough
It's tough when you play as well as they do and don't get a win.
days either felt few
It was either going to go one way (or another). I was either going to go down and, if I felt healthy, I'd come back. And if I went down and didn't feel healthy, I'd take a few more days and get better.
