We really don't know if human consumption of that chemical is dangerous per se, so it's premature to say. We don't move on taking it out of the food stores yet. Further studies are necessary to identify the ultimate outcomes.

It is important to identify how they can alter these epigenetic processes and not just DNA. I actually think they do realize this and are going this way, so what I want to hopefully come out of this is better testing and better regulation of these types of compounds to which we are exposed.

For the epigenetic processes, these are much more dynamic than DNA, and just as important because this is what controls what is being expressed and what is being repressed. Because of that, any type of toxicant in the environment that interacts with these processes can affect disease outcome.
