Panayotis Alexander "Alexi" Lalasis a retired association football player who played mostly as a defender. Lalas is best known for his participation with the United States national team in the 1994 FIFA World Cup, where he was a standout player on the team with his distinctive long beard and hair. I can't think of two better games to have him in than our opener down in D.C. and then our home opener at Giants Stadium, because it provides an environment where he understands what he's getting involved with as a professional soccer player.
