Alan Stuart Trammellis an American former professional baseball shortstop for the Detroit Tigers. He currently serves as a special assistant to the Detroit Tigers. Trammell, nicknamed "Tram", played his entire career with the Tigers, highlighted by a World Series championship in 1984 and an American League East division championship in 1987. Down the stretch, we've been struggling with our pitching staff, but he's taken the ball. He's been our best pitcher down the stretch when things have been tough. It means a lot, it really does. He continues to go out there like he did in 2003, no excuses, just give me the ball.

We got pounded tonight, no question. Jeremy (Bonderman) was not sharp and fell behind hitters. It just wasn't his night. They got back on track and we just couldn't stop them.

We didn't muster much. Ryan Franklin had good command of his breaking ball, slider, change and curve. He throws all four pitches.

Even though he hasn't hit that well against left-handers, we want to get him some playing time. He's opened some eyes -- what he's done hasn't been ordinary.
