Our defense has been coming through for us. That's the way it's supposed to be.

We knew about their size coming in. We knew they were a fast team, too. They're probably going to be the best team we've seen all year.

It's the same thing we would do if we were looking at him on film. He rushed for 1,000 yards last year. That's the kid we would stop.

Considering the situation, they did a good job. It's not that we were horrible (against Hawthorne), but we're not going to overpower anybody.

We got whipped. They're better than us. When you play against a team that has 15 kids over 200 pounds and you only have three, it's hard to play them.

We've got kids who are making plays for us. But we need more kids to step up and make plays. We're just not very consistent right now. I think you'll see that once we get our players back in their positions.

Defensively, our kids played their hearts out. We had three defensive stands in our own territory. If they go in (for a score) on any of those, who knows what happens?

Playing without three starting linemen, that's pretty tough. Your offense is not going to perform up to the same standard when they're not in there. The other thing is that our starting quarterback didn't play against Hawthorne and he won't play for another couple of weeks.

Their size is a concern, especially because of the predicament we're in. Speed, too. (Goodwin and Sweeney) are as quick as anybody we have.
bigger guard kids mitchell people side thomas
These people are bigger than big. They've got two kids that are over 300 (Jesse Thomas and 6-foot-4, 315-pound Mitchell Williams) that are on the right side of their line. The guard on the other side (Jonathan Rivera) is 260.
