Once we didn't hit a couple of shots, for some reason our girls' confidence went down. There were shots we should have made that just rolled out tonight. East played great defense, but I thought we had some good looks.

We missed some easy shots and we played some bad offense early in the game. Our defense turned around in the second quarter. We got our offense out of our defense. Then we settled down and started making some good plays. It came out of our defense first.

We had talked about being in the game right away. Their (Yorkville) plan was to get up early and try to maintain it, and they held on. I thought they did a good job hitting shots when they needed to.

Early on we had a lot of open shots and they just weren't falling. Again, we're not taking anything away from Cal. Their athleticism allows them to stretch you defensively, but we had a lot of things going for us offensively early on and shots just weren't going down.

We're a good offensive team and we shoot from the perimeter. That's what we do. We weren't going to change the way we play this week. We struggled with our shot and we may have been a little intimidated by the environment this morning, but that's part of the experience.

That was just huge. To be able to control the ball at that time was the difference. That, and we made our shots at the critical moments. This is a big win for us because it gives us confidence going into the playoffs.
